Today is a historic day, my friends! Today is the first time in history that a reality television star with no public service experience will be sworn in as president. It is the first time in history that someone with 75 active lawsuits will become “the leader of the free world”.
And what a journey it has been to get here. Let’s look back on some of the most impactful quotes from our great leader’s journey to the White House.
“You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. I just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”
“The point is, you can never be too greedy.”
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best… They’re bringing drugs. They’re bring crime. They’re rapists… And some, I assume, are good people.”
America has spoken, and for the next four years we will have to eat that big ugly cake that we helped bake.
But for today, it’s okay to mourn. Hell, take the whole weekend (our President is taking it off too, so you’re fine). But once you’re done mourning, it is time for action.
- Talk to as many people as you can about the facts on climate change.
- If you’re on Affordable Care Act (ACA), tell your friends. They should know that the GOP’s selfishness to repeal ACA before replacing it puts your life and the lives of thousands of citizens at risk.
- Be outspoken for your support of your LGBT friends, and their right to love whoever they want. LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE.
- And if you’re an artist - MAKE SOMETHING that makes people think and feel. Make something that allows people to empathize with their fellow American, no matter what their age, race, or beliefs.
It’s going to be a long four years, but the darkest hour is just before dawn.
