The three main characters that make up Turquoise Jeep - Flynt Flossy, Yung Humma, and Whatchyamcallit - took the basement stage Thursday night, along with Tummiscratch as emcee, and instantly brought the energetic crowd to a fever pitch. Having seen them before, I had high hopes for this much more intimate performance. Between their synchronized dance moves, stage presence, crowd interactions and variety of songs, I can honestly say it was more impressive then expected. With a mix of catchy hip hop, R&B, and pop tunes it's impossible to stand still.
The highlights for me included "Did I Mention I Like To Dance" lead by Flynt Flossy, the classic "Lemme Smang It" as well as "Treat Me Like a Pirate." I may or may not have been pulled on stage for that last one.... When Turquoise Jeep asks you to dance, you accept. They gave their all to the crowd, and take every single person on a positive and entertaining journey. There wasn't a non-sweaty person in the place by the end of things, and the crowd was buzzing long after the last song ended.
Turquoise Jeep is also known for their meet and greets after every show. They are some of the nicest guys, and genuinely take the time to connect with their fans. They stayed until every person that was in line had their photos and autographs. It was a memorable show and evening, and I highly encourage anyone that likes to have fun, to not miss these guys when they are in town.
